PC Freezing Issues in Games After GPU Upgrade: Any Ideas?

Hey everyone! A few months back, I built a new PC and transferred my old GPU, which was a 3050. About two months ago, I upgraded to a 5070 Ti, but now I'm facing some frustrating issues. In games like Victoria 3 and Company of Heroes 2, my PC keeps freezing up. The games lag for a few seconds before sorting themselves out when I alt-tab. I've already lowered the graphics settings for Company of Heroes 2, but it doesn't help. I checked my specs and made sure everything is correctly plugged in; there doesn't seem to be a limit being hit on my CPU, RAM, or GPU.

Here are my specs:
- Intel Ultra Core 7 265KF
- 5070 Ti
- Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB DDR5 5200MHz
- Corsair MP600 Elite 2TB M.2 SSD
- Eagle Z890 WiFi 7 (LGA1851)
- Gigabyte UD850GM PG5 850W

I've tried updating drivers and adjusting various settings, but I'm still not sure why the freezing keeps happening. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you checked the DirectX logs to see if they indicate why the freezing occurs? Sometimes, switching from DirectX to Vulkan or OpenGL can help. I experienced similar issues on an older laptop where DirectX would cause crashes, but Vulkan dropped frames without shutting down the game. Also, try running your games at the lowest quality settings to see if that reduces the freezing. And don't forget to check Task Manager while you're gaming to see how much RAM is being used. Are you running any background applications while playing? It could also be worth running RAM and GPU tests to see if there's a hardware issue.

If you're using additional apps like Spotify or Discord while gaming, it could affect performance. I had a similar experience where my framerate dropped significantly under load. Try checking your RAM usage in Task Manager—you mentioned it’s around 22GB in use during Victoria 3, which might be pushing it. You can run RAM and GPU tests using benchmarking tools available online to see if there's a problem with those components.
