PC Stuttering After About an Hour of Use

Hey folks! I'm dealing with some frustrating issues with my PC and could really use your input. I have an older setup, with a mainboard, RAM, and chip that are all around 10 years old. Back in December 2025, I started getting random BSOD errors. The most alarming one was MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, which happened every time I booted up my machine. After some digging, I found out it might be a RAM issue, so I reinstalled Windows and switched two RAM slots, which initially helped—no BSOD for a while.

However, about a week later, my PC started to stutter after using it for roughly an hour. It's super annoying because the stuttering gets worse the longer I use the PC, but it does go back to normal after a restart. I've tried changing the RAM slots multiple times, but nothing really helps for long. I even did a clean reinstall of Windows again a couple of days ago, but the issue persisted. Just yesterday, after switching the RAM again, the PC ran fine for a whole day, only for the stuttering to return today.

I'm starting to think it really is a RAM fault, considering I'm using two old Kingmax DDR3 1600MHz sticks. The other components seem fine: two newer SSDs, a 1660 Ti graphics card, an i7 4770 CPU that doesn't overheat, and a relatively new PSU. My mainboard is the old Dell Inspiron model. I'm currently running memtest86 to see if there are any errors and will update soon. Appreciate any thoughts or advice you all might have!

Honestly, it sounds like your PC might just be reaching the end of its life. If upgrading to a newer platform like AM4 or AM5 is an option later on, that would definitely help. But for now, I'd say you need to do some troubleshooting with the RAM or even check if the mainboard is having issues.

I wish I could afford an upgrade right now! Financial issues are making it tough to replace everything. Thanks for the insight though!
