Hey folks, I've noticed that my PS4 Slim is starting to make a clicking sound every 20 seconds or so, which I've heard is a common issue with the hard drives. It's been running fine otherwise, except for a startup error I noticed once. Is there anything I can do right now to help prevent it from failing completely?

Swapping out the hard drive in your PS4 Slim is pretty straightforward. First, definitely back up your saved games on an external USB drive while everything's still working. Once you're ready to replace the hard drive, you'll need a flash drive with the PS4 update data. Just connect the new hard drive, a wired controller, and that flash drive, and you’ll get prompts on-screen to install the new OS. The whole process can be done in under an hour. I upgraded to an SSD recently and it was a game-changer, so it's worth considering.

Thanks for the tips! Do you think sticking with an HDD is fine for now, or should I invest in an SSD? I'm planning to use the PS4 for a couple more years before upgrading to the PS5. Any suggestions for budget-friendly HDDs or SSDs?
