Python or C: Which Programming Language Should I Choose?

Hey everyone! I need some advice on choosing a programming language to learn. I'm a beginner in high school, and our course includes C, but I've heard a lot of people recommend Python instead. Honestly, I'm a bit lost about which path to take. I tend to break the rules, like downloading stuff illegally and using premium tools for free. I also have a YouTube channel with 37 subscribers where I post art-related videos. I've been earning some money with my art skills since I was six, but I'm not sure why I'm sharing all this. Anyway, should I go for C or Python? By the way, I also dabble in TryHackMe!

I recently advised my younger brother to start with C before jumping into Python or web development. Learning C gives you a strong foundation in core concepts like data structures and algorithms, which are super important for any tech career. Focusing on basics might seem boring now, but it pays off later when you're looking for a job.

So, should I just tackle C first, then maybe C++ and Python later? I mean, I'm not looking for a job at 16, so maybe that's the way to go?

If you're just starting out, I'd suggest picking an ‘easy’ language like Python. It lets you focus on the basics without getting bogged down by complex syntax. Having more fun while learning can be really motivating!

But is Java really easy?

Both C and Python have their perks! C is great for understanding how computers work at a low level, but Python is more user-friendly and lets you get things done quickly. In the end, neither choice is wrong—just go with what interests you more!

So, does that mean I can choose either?
