Ransomware Protection is Causing Permissions Issues—What Can I Do?

I'm dealing with a strange issue where my ransomware protection is messing with permissions across multiple programs—not just the one I show in a video. I really want to keep this protection enabled but need help finding a workaround before spending hours on Microsoft support, especially since my last experience with them wasn't great. The issue seems random, and while it used to notify me when it blocked access, that's no longer happening. You can check out the problem in my video linked below: https://youtu.be/mCrSKvxgB4A

It sounds frustrating! Have you checked the specific error message that pops up? Knowing that can help pinpoint the problem. Sometimes, switching off specific features temporarily might ease the permission issues without fully disabling protection.

Good idea! If you see an error like 'Disk cannot be accessed,' it might just be a permissions setting that needs tweaking. You could also try using recovery options to see if there’s a larger issue.

I totally get where you're coming from. If the ransomware protection is blocking access randomly, it could be related to how the software interacts with your apps. You might want to try adjusting the settings of the ransomware protection to see if you can whitelist certain programs. Also, check if there’s an update available for your antivirus—it might address some of these bugs.

Yeah, whitelisting certain apps could really help! I had to do that with mine when it started acting up. Just make sure your antivirus is up to date, too.
