I'm on the hunt for a high-capacity internal hard drive to store a bunch of movies and other media. What should I consider when selecting one? I'm avoiding external drives since I'm worried they could become messy.

I'd suggest looking into refurbished enterprise drives. I'm currently using 4x8TB in a ZFS setup without any issues and they've been solid performers.
You might also want to check out the WD Black or the Seagate Barracuda for solid performance and capacity options. Both are popular choices.
For a good balance, consider grabbing WD Red Plus drives if you're setting up something like Unraid. They handle media storage quite well.
It really depends on your speed needs! If you're okay with a slower drive, the WD Blue series is more affordable. But if you want something zippier, go for the WD Black which is faster, though pricier.
If you're looking for capacity, check out the Seagate Exos series. I recently bought four of these 24TB drives and they're fantastic! They pack quite a punch for storage, just keep in mind that they can be pricey depending on the model you choose.
Definitely look into those, I've got a bunch in my array and they work like a charm. SPD ships them out well too!
That's great to know! I'm aiming for around 16TB, is there a specific Exos model you'd recommend?
