Recommendations for a High-Quality 27″ Non-OLED Monitor

I'm looking for a 27-inch monitor with a refresh rate of 140Hz or higher. My Alienware AW2725DF recently got damaged beyond repair (thanks to my cat!), and I'm ready to replace it with a non-OLED monitor this time. I've decided to avoid OLED because I want to keep watching movies and streaming content without worrying about burn-in issues, which I had to deal with a bit on my old monitor. Plus, that glossy screen was a pain to clean, and I ended up with some permanent marks after moving it, despite being super careful. I know the AOC Q27G3XMN is highly rated for its value, but are there any other better quality mini LED backlight IPS panels I should be looking at?

The AOC Q27G3XMN is a great choice for Mini LED under $600—it's one of the rare ones at that price. Just to note, it has mediocre response times, making it fine for watching content but not great for gaming. If you're looking for something slightly pricier, the Cooler Master Tempest GP27Q is also available for around $450 now, but it has some haloing issues due to its limited zones. You might want to consider sticking to OLED if you want great HDR since only higher-end Mini LEDs can compete with them effectively. Also, if you decide to go the OLED route, get a monitor arm this time to keep it safe from any feline mischief!

You might also want to look at Dell’s offerings; they have some solid IPS options that balance quality and price pretty well!

What would be a decent IPS monitor then? My research tells me the Dell G2724D is a good option, but it’s about $314 right now, which feels a bit steep.

If you're okay with a curved display, the AOC CQ27G4ZH might be a good fit for you. It offers solid performance, but I prefer lower brightness, so Mini LED screens aren't really my thing. Just something to think about!
