I'm looking for suggestions on a reliable 850W+ power supply unit that doesn't have the burning plastic smell I've been experiencing with my current Corsair RM850e. I built a new rig earlier this year with a 5070 Ti and, although the Corsair seemed fine initially, I'm getting this weird sweet burning smell every time I push my GPU. It's been over six months, and it hasn't gone away. After some investigation, I found out that the PSU is the source of the smell. I've contacted Corsair, but they were going to replace it with another of the same model, which I've learned has a common odor issue. I'm ready to switch brands! What PSU brands provide stable power without any unpleasant smells?

That smell doesn't sound healthy. You might want to look into other brands if that's a common issue with the Corsair.
Yikes, that sounds bad! Definitely wouldn't want to keep breathing that in.
You might want to check out Super Flower Leadex III. They're top-notch PSUs that have a good reputation. I've used a few, and never had any smell issues. I have some Corsair units too, including the RM850e, but I didn't notice a smell with those. Still, Super Flower could be a solid choice for you.
Honestly, just get another PSU. I've never experienced a smelly one before, so it's likely just that specific unit failing.
I don't know what the go-to brand is, but I have a Seasonic PSU in the same wattage range, and it’s been working great for a few years without any odor. Definitely worth considering!
Just wait until you see how the air looks in a sleeping bedroom...
