Recommendations for Free WYSIWYG Editors?

I'm feeling a bit frustrated with the WYSIWYG editors I've tried lately. TinyMCE, Quill, and Froala didn't work out for me. CKEditor was the least problematic, but it requires a license to add features like a video button. Are there other free options you could recommend?

What kind of issues did you face with those editors? It might help to know more about what went wrong. Personally, I've been using TipTap for a while and it's been great for my needs!

TipTap is awesome! I use it at my job too, no complaints.

Honestly, I’ve given up trying to find a perfect WYSIWYG editor and just use plain text with BB code for my projects. It lets me keep everything standardized, though I know it's not the visual solution you're looking for.

If you need something lighter, I’ve had great luck with Jodit, especially with the Jodit-React setup for my projects. Definitely worth a shot!

I’ll give Jodit a try, sounds promising!

I really like Summernote. It’s simple and does what I need. Although, I have to admit, Quill has grown on me more recently.

For a very minimalistic approach, check out Pell. It’s super straightforward and you can customize it quite a bit.
