Recommendations for Motherboard and PSU for My PC Build

I'm embarking on my first PC build and need some advice on the motherboard and PSU. As a web developer looking to get into game development, I want a powerful setup to handle the latest games at 4K resolution. My CPU choice is the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and the GPU is the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 GAMING OC. However, I'm uncertain about the motherboard and PSU selections. Also, I'd love feedback on whether any elements of this build feel like overkill—I'm hoping to save some money if possible! Here's a link to my planned build: [https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/mbkZdb](https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/mbkZdb)

I really don't understand why you'd need such high-end gear. Both the 5090 and 9950X3D seem excessive for just web and game development. If you want to max out settings at 4K, sure, go for it—but don't think you need this kind of hardware for work. For your PSU, around 1000W is more than enough. Staying below that peak on the GPU and CPU means you can safely operate without going overboard.

Fair enough! I aimed high hoping to future-proof my setup, but maybe I can tone it down a bit. I’m leaning toward adjusting my choices based on this feedback.

Honestly, do you really need all that power for web development? Even if you're using heavy tools, a decent CPU with enough RAM should suffice. The motherboard choice also seems excessive—like, what features are you planning to use that justify such an expensive option?

Good point! I actually use VMs and Docker containers a lot for work, and I want to game during breaks without shutting everything down. Besides, I’m considering future-proofing since I might want to run multiple GPUs down the line.
