Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I'm having trouble with my Sapphire RX 580 8GB Special Edition that I just bought. I got it from a guy in person who seemed trustworthy—he said it was used for mining for a year and even showed me proof of purchase and his cooling setup, which looked decent. However, when I try to boot it up, it doesn't seem to work. Here's what happens: I install the GPU in the PCIe slot, connect both the 8-pin and 6-pin power cables, and the Sapphire logo lights up. The fans spin for about 3-4 seconds before stopping and repeating this cycle, which gives me hope that it's not completely dead. I've already tried a few things: resetting the CMOS, using the BIOS switch on the GPU, installing drivers from AMD (even using DDU), and I upgraded my PSU from 500W to 650W thinking that might be the issue. Interestingly, my old Nvidia GTX 1030 works perfectly fine in the same setup, and I've tried both HDMI ports on the RX 580 with no success. Honestly, you might have gotten scammed. It's possible the guy was honest, but it's also common for mining GPUs to wear out faster. If you have access to another system, test it there. If it’s still not working, you might have to consider returning it or looking for warranty options if they exist.
