Hey everyone! I'm curious about the performance differences between SATA SSDs and NVMe drives when it comes to gaming. I just purchased a Silicon Power A55 2TB SATA SSD for $120, but with NVMe prices being quite high right now, I'm wondering if using a SATA will significantly impact my gaming experience. Is it worth holding onto this drive?

Honestly, you probably won’t notice much difference in gaming performance. Most benchmarks show that even in loading times, SATA drives only differ by a second or two compared to NVMe drives. Since most games don’t rely heavily on disk speed while playing, you should be just fine with your SATA SSD.

I’ve seen tests that suggest it really depends on the game now. Some newer games load assets live, so there could be minor delays in busy scenes. But for most titles, the SATA should do the trick. Just keep an eye on it!
