I've been experiencing a frustrating issue with my screen while using Linux Mint. Whenever I'm not typing, moving the cursor, or watching a video, the screen starts blinking or glitching. This isn't a new problem for me; I noticed it when I first installed the OS, but I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to fix later on. I even reinstalled Linux Mint on my USB, hoping that would resolve it, but the issue persists. I'm starting to feel like I need some help with this!

Have you checked what graphics card and drivers you're using? That might be a good starting point!
I had the same frustrating blinking issue with Mint on my NUC. I couldn't find any solutions to fix it and eventually had to switch to Windows.
You might want to provide more details about your hardware and any error messages when posting. It really helps folks give better advice! Also, regarding your blinking issue, does it blink 2-4 times and then stop, or does it just keep on blinking until you type or move the cursor? It could potentially be related to power-saving settings trying to kick in, like a screensaver or sleep mode. Disabling those might help. If all else fails, you could try a different distro to see if the problem persists!
Oh wow, I forgot to mention—my screen doesn’t just blink but will blink a few times then turn black. I even set the "Suspend inactive for" option to "never," but the issue is still there.
Thanks for your response! My computer is a Dell Inspirion 3400 2in1 with Intel Iris Plus Graphics G1, and I'm using the i915 driver.
