Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my old 2014 setup because my hardware is starting to struggle and Windows 10 is no longer supported. I've been saving up for about 4.5 years, gathering €2700 specifically for this upgrade, mainly to play GTA 6 at ultra settings. My goal is to focus on getting a top-tier CPU, motherboard, and RAM combo that can last me at least 10-15 years, while I currently plan to keep my GTX 1060 until I can invest in a new high-end NVIDIA GPU when GTA 6 is released. Right now, my setup includes an i7-4790K, GTX 1060, and some outdated DDR3 RAM. I'm wondering if I should go with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D or an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. I also have a 12-year-old PSU—should I be worried about its reliability for modern components? Open to all suggestions as I'm not super up to date on the latest tech!

You might want to consider spending less for now on a capable upgrade and save the rest of your budget for the future. If GTA 6 launches in a couple of years, you could get something faster at that time, instead of sinking all your cash into a high-end build now. Reevaluate your needs, and it might save you money down the line.

Totally get your point! I just want to be able to meet GT6's requirements on max settings, but I see your angle. Maybe investing €200-400 for now could work better for me in the long run.
