Hey everyone! I had a bit of a scare with my Mac Studio M2 Max (2022). It was in sleep mode while I had some apps open (like Safari, Word, and Deezer), and I also had an external Dell monitor and a Zike SSD enclosure plugged in. Suddenly, there was a power outage at my place. When the power came back, my Mac turned itself on, which caught me off guard. I thought an automatic update had triggered, but it turned out to just be the power cutting out the way it did.
Now, I'm feeling a bit anxious about whether anything could be damaged, especially since I didn't unplug anything before the outage. I ran First Aid on both my internal and external drives, and they both checked out fine. The only thing I've noticed since the outage is that my CPU usage fluctuates between 2-11%, usually around 4%. Is that standard? Also, can anyone tell me what's a healthy CPU temperature range for a Mac Studio? I'm just looking for some peace of mind since this is a big investment for me, and I want to ensure everything's running smoothly. Any thoughts or similar experiences would be great! Thanks a ton!

You're probably okay! There's a minor chance that something could've been affected, but it's really low, especially with your house wiring in good condition. Just keep an eye on it, but don't stress out. You're likely fine!
Thanks a ton for the reassurance, everyone! You all helped ease my stress about this situation, and I appreciate your comments. Feeling much more confident now!
No worries! Your Mac should be fine after just being in sleep mode during a power cut. You're good!
Everything seems alright! It's a good idea to have your gear plugged into a surge protector to be safe, but from what you've described, especially since your SSDs checked out fine, you're probably in the clear.
Honestly, I think you're overthinking it. While it's true that sudden shutdowns aren't ideal for computers, since your Mac was in sleep mode, it's likely it was in a safe state. You already checked the SSDs, and they said they're fine, so it seems like you can trust that. If you haven’t tracked CPU usage before, then your current numbers don't necessarily indicate a problem. Everything should be okay!
