I recently bought a prebuilt PC featuring a Ryzen 7800X3D and an RTX 5070, but I was disappointed to find out they included an MSI Gaming Plus WiFi B840 motherboard. After doing some research, I discovered that this motherboard is on par with the A620M and that many people recommend using a B650 instead. Additionally, I've come across information suggesting I might be losing about 10-15 fps in games due to the B840's PCIe Gen 4 capabilities, compared to what Gen 5 could offer. What's frustrating is that the B650 and B840 are priced similarly here. Since I'm using this PC for AI workloads, where the GPU often uses system memory, I'm concerned about whether this motherboard choice might impact my performance.

Honestly, you probably won't see a significant fps drop with PCIe Gen 4. Even high-end cards like the RTX 5090 only show about 1-3% performance loss in most situations, so you should be fine.
If it was a good deal, just stick with it! Upgrading to a B650 now might not be worth it since the performance difference isn’t really that big. Just enjoy your new PC!
If it's not the specs you wanted, consider returning it. There's no need to hold onto something that doesn't meet your expectations! You deserve a setup that you feel good about.

How does it perform with AI tasks, though? I want to make sure it can handle those workloads efficiently.
