Hey everyone, I'm really excited about returning to PC gaming after a long break (the last time I built was with a Radeon HD 4850 or GTX 460!). I've heard a lot of worrying things about stuttering in modern games lately, particularly those built on Unreal Engine 5. I'm curious – outside of the extreme cases like Jedi Survivor, how often do people actually experience stuttering during gameplay? Is this something I should genuinely worry about, or can I just expect some minor loading issues in menus while enjoying newer titles like Oblivion Remastered? Any insights would be appreciated!

Honestly, I think it's not as bad as people say. I came back to PC gaming after a long break too, and on my setup with an R7 7700 and RTX 4080, I rarely notice stuttering, even in games like Awoved where it's supposedly a problem. When I had a 4060 Ti, I did experience occasional frame stutters in some UE5 games, but it felt like it was pretty minor and oversold by the community.
I watched a test of Oblivion Remastered, and even high-end cards like the 5090 are showing some stuttering. You can check it out on their frametime graph!
