I'm in the process of building a new PC since my old one is finally ready to retire after 11 years of gaming. Ideally, I'd want 64GB of RAM, but with prices being so high at the moment, that's just not feasible. I'm considering two options: buying a single 32GB stick now and then adding another later, or going for a 2x16GB kit now and possibly upgrading to larger sticks in the future. I've heard mixed opinions about using four sticks for RAM, and I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons while also keeping my upgrade potential in mind. Any advice?

If you have an X3D CPU, single-channel memory might work okay for gaming, but it could fall short in productivity tasks. I'd suggest going for the 2x16GB setup now. If you need to upgrade later, selling them and switching to larger sticks should be pretty straightforward.

Thanks for the tip! So, you're saying the dual-channel setup is the better way to go for my X3D?
