Should I buy a new NVMe SSD now or wait for prices to drop?

I've got a 500GB Crucial P310 SSD, which I thought would last me a while, but after only 4 months, I'm already over a third of the way through. Now I'm eyeing a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB and it's priced at a whopping $300! I'm torn between purchasing one now, fearing prices might hike further, or holding out for better deals. I'm also open to any recommendations for a reliable 1-2TB NVMe under $200. I mainly game but dabble in coding and might explore local AI/machine learning projects later—hence my storage concerns.

I think you need to do what's best for your setup. Gamestop had a decent 2TB deal recently, but it can vary. Keep an eye out for sales too, sometimes stores have flash discounts.

Honestly, buying used SSDs can be dicey because of their limited write cycles. I'd stick to the new ones or certified refurbished. You want your storage to last without surprises down the road.

Totally agree! I wouldn't skimp on an SSD. Stick with new or well-reviewed options to avoid any issues.

Yeah, it's probably not worth the risk with used storage. Just save up a bit more for a solid new one.

Honestly, I wouldn't bet on storage prices dropping soon. If you've got the funds and really need the space, I'd say go for it! You don’t want to end up scrambling for storage later when prices might be even higher, especially with the current trends.

Yeah, I just bought one too after holding off for a while. Prices are insane, and I don't think they're going to improve anytime soon.

Exactly! If you can swing it now, I'd just pull the trigger. Waiting might just lead to more spending.
