Should I Buy an RTX 5070 Now or Wait for the Super Version?

I'm putting together my first gaming PC and aiming for 1440p in the best graphics quality possible, preferably with NVIDIA for solid ray tracing support. I'm torn between the RTX 4070 Super and the newer RTX 5070. Some opinions suggest that the 5070 might not be a significant upgrade from the 4070 Super, but since I'm not upgrading from an older card, I feel less biased. The price and performance look similar, so it seems logical to get the latest model. However, I've heard rumors that the 5070 Super could drop later this year, and it boasts some intriguing specs, including 18GB of VRAM. Should I dive in and get the 5070 now for gaming, or hold out for the unknown release of the 5070 Super? Here's my setup for reference: [setup link].

If you can snag the 5070 for close to MSRP or just about $100 over, go for it. If it’s more than that, you might want to check out the 9070 or 9070 XT for better performance and ray tracing. From what it sounds like, you might end up paying a premium for the 5070.

In my area, it’s only $50 above MSRP, but that's just due to the overall lower prices here compared to the US.

The 5070 is good for 1440p right now, but keep in mind it might have a limited lifespan of around 3 years before you'll need to lower some settings due to VRAM limits. If you can wait, the Super version might be worth it. Otherwise, consider getting a 9070 XT at around MSRP instead of splurging too much on the 5070 since it could end up being priced around $650-700 anyway.
