Should I Buy the 5060 Ti 16GB Now or Wait for Better Options?

I'm looking to build a PC and I really need a graphics card with 16GB VRAM. I'm currently eyeing the 5060 Ti, but I'm seeing some crazy prices in the marketplace here in India. I'm wondering if the 40 series cards would be a better option than the 5060 Ti. I'm specifically aiming to work with generative AI by running models locally, which is why I'm steering clear of AMD's RX series. Should I just go for the 5060 Ti now, or do you think waiting for the super models to release might lead to better prices?

The closest option to the 5060 Ti 16GB is definitely the 4060 Ti 16GB. If you're considering alternatives, you might want to keep an eye out for a used 3090, especially for AI work. Just remember, they can be hard to find!

Yeah, getting a 3090 can be rare. The price for a 4060 Ti isn't bad, but might be better to just stretch your budget a bit for the 5060.

I was in the same boat and ended up going with the 5060 Ti 16GB. The 40 series is pretty pricey, and in terms of architecture, the 50 series is better. If you can find a second-hand 4080 or 3090, that could work, but good luck finding them within budget.

I'm ready to spend 40k to build mine too, just unsure if I should rush since prices might drop after buying.

You might consider checking out the 9060 XT. Its performance isn’t quite as strong, but it packs 16GB VRAM for the price of the 8GB 5060 Ti. Just be cautious if your focus is mainly on AI, since the RX series can be less reliable for those tasks.

I get that. Since I need it for AI, I'm a bit hesitant to go with the RX.
