I've been patiently waiting for the RX 9070 to drop to its MSRP, but I just found an RTX 5070 Founders Edition for $550, including taxes and shipping. I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and buy the 5070 or continue waiting for the price of the RX 9070 to come down. What do you think?

I would recommend waiting for the 9070. The 5070 isn't really worth it unless it drops below $500.
Honestly, the 5070 for $550 seems like a steal! Its performance is quite close to the 9070, especially if gaming is your main goal. If you're leaning towards NVIDIA anyway, it’s a smart choice, especially since some games are optimized for it.
I'd say grab the 5070! It may not be as high-performing as more expensive models, but it's still great for most tasks. Plus, with support for DLSS and potential path tracing, you'll have a great gaming experience for $549.
The RTX 5070 at $550 sounds like a pretty solid deal! If you're okay with it and it meets your needs, I think it's a good move to grab it now instead of holding out for the RX 9070.
I wouldn’t call it a great deal at that price; it's decent but not amazing.
It really depends on how urgent your GPU upgrade is. The 5070 at MSRP is decent, and while there were hints of prices dropping (like a $539 deal I saw), it may still take a while for significant reductions, so waiting could be a gamble.
But if the 9070 stays over $600, shouldn’t the 5070 be considered since it's similarly capable? Just a thought!
