Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC and could use your guidance on RAM. I've got a couple of options to consider for my build featuring a Ryzen 9 9600X and an RTX 9060 XT graphics card. Option A is TeamGroup T-FORCE VuLcan with 2x8GB at CL38 6000MHz, which fits my budget right now. Option B is G-Skill FLARE X5 with 2x16GB at CL36 5600MHz, which is about $135 more than my initial choice. There's also Option C, which is ADATA XPG Lancer with 2x16GB at CL36 6000MHz, but that would set me back $195 more than my 16GB kit. My concern is whether it's better to go for the 32GB at a lower speed or stick to my budget with the 16GB at a higher speed. I really want to avoid regrets and I'm leaning towards splurging, but want to get your thoughts! Thanks!

Honestly, I’d say go for the cheapest option. In terms of gaming performance, you probably won't notice a huge difference between 5600MHz and 6000MHz RAM. It could be less than a 10 fps difference, so I'd optimize your budget if possible.
If you're primarily gaming, 16GB typically suffices. But if you're doing heavy multitasking or productivity work, then 32GB could save you headaches in the long run. Alternatively, you could start with one 16GB stick now and add another later if necessary.
I’m in the same boat! I usually close most apps too when gaming. But having 32GB feels a bit more future-proof. That’s what keeps nagging at me!
I totally get the struggle on which to choose. Honestly, 16GB works for most people, so don't let others pressure you into thinking you absolutely need 32GB unless you're really hitting those memory-intensive games. But keep in mind that even browsing with multiple tabs open can take up RAM, so do whatever feels right for you!
Exactly! Saying 16GB is enough is subjective. You can survive on it, but if you're juggling apps and games, it does get tight, especially as games get more demanding.
I'd go for the 2x16GB at 5600MHz. The difference between 5600 and 6000 is pretty minimal. Plus, if you're gaming, 16GB is generally fine for the majority of games.
I think 32GB is the best move, especially if you're running demanding tasks. But if you're mainly gaming, 16GB should work fine for all but a handful of games. I've seen 8GB get tight with bigger titles lately, so keep that in mind.
You're spot on. That’s why I'm concerned about going with 5600MHz. I really don't want to have to upgrade RAM later if it’s a pain!

Lol, I'd bet it's even less than 1fps difference! Don't sweat the small stuff.
