Hey everyone! I'm finally ready to retire my old PC with the 1070 graphics card. The remastered version of Oblivion has pushed me to make the upgrade. I mainly play single-player RPGs like Oblivion Remastered, modded Skyrim, and Elden Ring, where high-quality graphics really enhance my gaming experience. My goal is to run these games at 1440p with high settings. Currently, I have a 24" 1080p 60Hz monitor, but I'm looking to upgrade to a 27" 1440p monitor with 165-180Hz. I'm planning a budget of about 20,000 DKK (including the monitor) for my new build. I found a good deal on an RTX 5080 but am unsure if a 5070 Ti or a 9070 XT might fit better with the rest of my setup. I want my build to last a while, potentially spending a bit more now to avoid future upgrades. Any recommendations on which GPU makes the most sense or any suggestions for other components in my build would be greatly appreciated!

I personally think you should consider the 5070 Ti to save some cash. Many users find that it handles 1440p ultra settings with decent FPS. Plus, the savings might be better spent on improving other components or getting a couple of good games!
Absolutely! Unless you plan to dive into ray tracing or super high-end textures, the 5070 Ti should keep you satisfied for a long time.
You might want to see how pricing looks in Denmark for these cards. The price difference isn’t as significant compared to the US. It might make the 5080 a better option for you right now!
Good point! I'll be checking local prices, but with the current deals, I might just lean towards that 5080.
Yeah, check for those local deals before making a final decision! They could really change the cost landscape.
Honestly, I’d go for the 5080 just for the peace of mind that it’ll run all games at max settings for the next few years. You can always sell it at a decent price later if needed. Also, use your old monitor as a second screen for work; that way, you can optimize your setup!
Totally! I have a dual monitor setup and it really boosts productivity. The 5080 will give you the breathing room you need for gaming.
Good advice! Starting with a powerful GPU now will save you from having to upgrade too soon.
I’d recommend going for the 5080 if you can afford it. While the 5070 Ti might be enough for 1440p at ultra settings, the 5080 offers better performance, especially with ray tracing. You'll get more longevity out of the 5080 as it handles demanding titles better. If you're serious about future-proofing your build, the extra investment could be worthwhile!
Just keep in mind that with both cards having the same VRAM, it really depends on whether you need the extra performance for the games you want to play.
Exactly! I have a 5080 myself and it easily runs everything at max settings while keeping good FPS. It’s a worthy investment!
For what it’s worth, I think 5080 is a solid choice if you want to maximize your experience. It’s definitely overkill for 1440p now, but you'll likely want that extra power for upcoming titles. If you can make the budget work, I’d say go for it!
That’s a fair point! Future-proofing is key, especially with how fast game graphics are evolving.
True! Better to invest in a powerful GPU now than regret it later when new games come out!
Right? I just got a 5070 Ti and it runs everything beautifully at 1440p! It’s all about finding the right balance between performance and budget.
