Should I choose a gaming laptop or PC under $1200?

Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for advice on whether I should invest in a gaming laptop or build/buy a gaming PC. I love playing high-graphics games like Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V, and Call of Duty, and I need a machine that can handle them on high or ultra settings without a hitch.

Here's a bit of context to help out:

- **Budget:** My budget is around $1200 USD (I might stretch it a little for something really worth it).
- **Portability:** I do move around somewhat, but I mainly game at home. So, I'm open to both laptops and desktops depending on performance and value.
- **Games I play:** I primarily dive into high-end titles, and I might start streaming soon.
- **What I've done so far:** I've looked up some builds and laptop suggestions, but the opinions are all over the place regarding which option is better long-term.
- **What changed:** My current laptop can't keep up with newer games anymore, even on low settings.

So, Reddit folks, should I go for a laptop or a desktop? Any specific recommendations under this budget? I'd really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance!

If performance is your top priority and you play mostly at home, I’d recommend going with a gaming PC. For around $1200, you can land a significantly better GPU and CPU setup in a desktop compared to a laptop. It’ll run demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 and CoD Warzone much smoother on higher settings and will be easier to upgrade over time. However, if portability is a must, you might want to check out the ASUS TUF A15 or the Lenovo Legion 5, both solid options in that price range. But honestly, a desktop usually offers better long-term value without sacrificing performance.
