I'm currently using a 2TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, but I've noticed that where I live, the price difference between a fast Gen 4 SSD and a Gen 5 one isn't that significant. In fact, the Samsung 9100 Pro only costs about $20 more than the Gen 4 options. I'm curious if it's worth upgrading to the 9100 Pro and if it's considered a good Gen 5 SSD overall.

I'd stick with the 990 Pro. I've found Gen 5 drives tend to run pretty hot, and since the 9100 is new, it might have some unknown bugs that haven't been discovered yet.
It really depends on what you're using your PC for. If it’s mainly for gaming, there's no real need to go for Gen 5 unless you're doing heavy tasks like working with big files. The savings of getting a solid Gen 4 SSD from a good brand would work just fine for gaming.

I'm looking for something that's versatile. I primarily game, but I might need it for work-related tasks too.
