I'm looking for some solid advice on whether to go with AMD or NVIDIA for my next graphics card. I've heard concerns about AMD's drivers and possible issues, especially when playing older games. My friends recommend the NVIDIA RTX 5060, saying I'll run into fewer problems than with the AMD RX 9060. I'm considering playing games like World of Warcraft, Rust, Fallout 4, and GTA on my i5-14600kf. What's the better choice?

Don't let your friends scare you! Both AMD and NVIDIA have stable drivers nowadays. Sometimes they release problematic updates, but they get fixed pretty quickly. If you're focused on features like DLSS and ray tracing, NVIDIA has the edge, but AMD offers great value.

Honestly, it’s a toss-up. Both cards are solid and fall into the mid-range category. Just pick whichever one you prefer because there’s a lot of outdated info about them.

These days, the drivers for both AMD and NVIDIA are pretty reliable. The RX 9060 is often cheaper and generally offers better performance compared to the RTX 5060. Unless you specifically need DLSS, I'd say go for the 9060! Plus, FSR 4 has improved a lot, though it might not work with every game.

If you’re playing at 1080p, either the RTX 5060 or RX 9060 should work fine. If you can snag an open box deal on a 5060 Ti or a RX 9060 XT, that would be ideal! But if you're going for 1440p, I'd lean towards the 9060 XT with its 16GB of VRAM.

NVIDIA’s DLSS is definitely a game-changer, so if that's important to you, go with them.

I switched to AMD back in 2021 and haven't had any major issues since. I'm really happy with my RX 9070 XT, especially considering the cost difference. For me, NVIDIA just wasn't worth the extra cash in the mid-range.
