Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my PC now that I've snagged a pretty good deal on a 5070ti. However, my budget is a little tight. I'm wondering if it's worth spending more on a DDR5 setup right now, like starting with just 8GB or 16GB of RAM and then upgrading later, or if I should just stick with DDR4 instead. I'm not one to upgrade my PC often; I'm currently running on a 1070ti, and I want my next build to last between 5 to 10 years. I expect I'll eventually have to play games on lower settings, which I'm fine with. I'm considering a few setups on pcpartspicker: Option 1: DDR4 with AMD 5800XT and 32GB RAM; Option 2: DDR5 with AMD 7600X3D and 16GB RAM; and Option 3: DDR4 with Intel i5-11400 and 32GB RAM. Any thoughts or alternative suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks!

Go for the DDR5 option! With your powerful GPU, it's definitely a smart move. If you're worried about costs, getting 16GB for now is fine, but try to avoid just 8GB—it's a bit too low for a build like this. Plus, you can always add more RAM later when prices drop.
But be careful—sometimes cheaper DDR5 can perform worse than good DDR4. Just make sure to check the specs!
Sounds like you might have mismanaged your budget a bit there—your GPU is taking a big chunk of your funds! Make sure to balance things out when you finalize your build.
Honestly, with that GPU, DDR5 is a great choice. If you feel the price for 16GB is too high, then just know that 8GB might not cut it these days, especially for gaming.

Yeah, I totally agree! Having just one stick can feel limiting; think about grabbing 2x8GB right off the bat.
