Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my CPU since I'm currently running a 4070 Super, and it's paired with a Ryzen 7 5700G. My motherboard only supports AM4 CPUs and non-X3D models, so I'm considering the Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X. What do you think would give me the best performance? I'm also open to other suggestions for AM4 CPUs that would pair nicely with my 4070 Super. I'm not very tech-savvy, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

In case you're not set on those options, consider looking at the Ryzen 5 5600X too. It’s a great performer for gaming and might save you some cash. But if you're focused on the 5800X or 5900X, stick with those—they're both excellent choices!

I'd recommend going with the Ryzen 9 5900X if your budget allows it. You'll get better future-proofing since it has more cores. Plus, it should perform better with your 4070 Super, especially in games that can utilize those extra cores! Just make sure your cooling solution is up to par.

It really depends on what you're aiming to do with your PC. The Ryzen 9 5900X is stronger in multi-threaded tasks, which is great for content creation or gaming in an optimized scenario. But if you're mostly gaming, the 5800X is a solid choice too and can save you some bucks! If you can get either at a good price, you won't be disappointed with either.
