I noticed that the 5080 GPU is listed as cheaper than the 4080 Super on pcpartpicker, but the performance seems similar. I'm curious if the 5080's performance advantage is primarily due to frame generation, or is it inherently superior to the 4080 Super? Given this information, would it make more sense to invest in a 5080? I haven't kept up with hardware advancements since EVGA stopped making GPUs, so I'm trying to get back into the know.

I agree that the 5080 is the better choice. Keep in mind, part picker shows new card prices and the 4080 Super's MSRP is higher now because of low supply. It's tricky to find stock for either card, but don't let that sway you too much.
Honestly, the 5080 is just overall better and faster compared to the 4080 Super. The 4080 is more pricey because it's not being produced anymore, so if you're in the market for a GPU now, going for the 5080 is the way to go.
The 5080 is significantly better, around 11% faster on average, and when overclocked, you can push it even further. It's worth noting that this performance is measured without relying on frame generation. So really, there's no reason to opt for the 4080 Super.
Exactly. The 40 series isn't really worth buying new anymore since the 50 series is out. Just go with the new upgrade!

Unless you find a great deal on a used one somewhere, like eBay. Then it might be worth considering!
