I'm trying to decide between the RTX 5080 and the RX 9070 XT for my gaming and video editing needs. I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU and I'm also considering streaming. While I know the RTX 5080 is regarded as a better option, I'm curious about how significant the performance difference really is between these two GPUs, especially in terms of price.

Honestly, just get the 5070 Ti if you're stuck between those two options; it’s good enough and saves you money without sacrificing much performance.
If you can swing it financially, go for the RTX 5080. You'll benefit from its dual encoders and decoders for video editing and streaming. However, if gaming is your main focus, the RX 9070 XT offers better price-to-performance. Plus, for path tracing or 4K gaming, the 5080 is the bare minimum. An overclocked 5080 almost matches the 4090's stock performance but is pricier. A nice middle ground might be the 5070 Ti compared to the 9070 XT.
Seriously, unless you really need CUDA cores for coding or similar tasks, go with AMD. The value on the RTX 5080 just isn’t there if you don't need those extra features.
Just choose one of the two cards you like, come on!
