I found several RX 7800 XT and RX 9060 XT options for about $540 in Algeria. Choosing the 7800 XT would also require spending another $50–$60 on a quality power supply, while the 9060 XT would work with my current setup. I'm upgrading from an RTX 3060 12GB and currently play at 1080p, although I may move to 1440p later. I understand that the RX 7800 XT is around 15–20% faster in traditional rasterized gaming, but I'm unsure whether that performance advantage is worth the extra power-supply cost. Assuming the 9060 XT is the 16GB model, which would be the better long-term choice?

If the RX 9060 XT is the 16GB version, I’d lean toward it for your situation. It uses less power, produces less heat, should be easier to fit in a case, and gives you newer features such as improved ray tracing and upscaling support. You give up roughly 20% of the RX 7800 XT’s raw performance, but avoiding another $50–$60 purchase makes the 9060 XT a more balanced option.
The RX 7800 XT is the faster card for ordinary, non-ray-traced gaming, especially if you care about high frame rates in competitive games or eventually move to 1440p. Since both cards support the newer upscaling features, the extra performance could be more valuable as games become heavier. However, make sure the additional PSU cost is included in the comparison—the 7800 XT’s higher power draw can make the total upgrade noticeably more expensive.
