I'm dealing with a weak Wi-Fi connection in my apartment since my router is pretty far from where I usually hang out. I'm considering whether to buy a second router or just go with a range extender. Is there a real difference between choosing the two options?

If you're looking for a quick fix, a range extender is probably your best bet since it doesn't require running a cable. However, if you're considering adding a second router, remember you'll need to connect it directly to your modem with an Ethernet cable. But from what it sounds like, a range extender should work for you just fine.
I have plenty of Ethernet cables, so that’s not a problem for me. But is getting a second router basically the same as using an extender?
