Should I Go for a 1080p Monitor with VSR or a 1440p One?

I'm planning to get an RX 9070 (non-XT) graphics card and I'm trying to decide whether to pick up a 1080p monitor and use Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) to scale up for 1440p when gaming, or to just splurge on a 1440p monitor right away. Given the current prices, I'm wondering if the cheaper option would be a good idea or not.

If you're sticking with a 24" monitor, then sure, 1080p could work for better FPS. But with a 27", definitely go for 1440p. A 27" running at 1080p can look pretty pixelated and just not great.

Check the price difference in your area. They've usually not been that far apart. It might help you decide!

It's about $100 difference where I live.

I’ve been using 27" 1080p monitors for over a decade, and honestly, everything looks clear enough for me. I wouldn’t say they look bad!
