I'm considering upgrading my GPU from a GTX 1660 and have two options for an RTX 3060:
1. A brand new MSI Ventus RTX 3060 12GB for $274.
2. A Palit RTX 3060 12GB that's used but in good condition for $173 (it's about 1.5 years old).
Which one do you think is the better choice? I plan to sell my current GTX 1660 for around $90 after getting the new GPU.

Honestly, spending $270 on a two-generation-old GPU seems steep. I’d say grab the used one instead and save some money!
If you can swing it, going for new is usually safer. You'll get a warranty and peace of mind that it hasn’t been used. Plus, keep an eye out; you might find current-gen cards in your price range soon.
I'd suggest waiting until the new cards release. Prices on the 4060s will drop, but just know they only have 8GB of VRAM, which might not meet your needs if you're looking for something with 12GB. If you're sticking with an older motherboard, keep in mind the PCIe lane limitations could affect performance too.
If you're leaning towards the used card, just make sure to test it properly. You want to confirm it's really a 3060, check its performance with benchmarks, and ensure it doesn't overheat. If it checks out, go for the used one — it'll save you some cash, but just know it won't come with a warranty.
Exactly! I'd take saving a few bucks over worrying about the age of the card any day.
