I'm a complete tech noob and I'm looking for a laptop mainly for typing documents, using Excel, and making a PowerPoint or two. As a broke student, I'm torn between getting a cheaper Intel i3 laptop or spending a bit more on an Intel i5. Any advice would be super helpful!

I'd recommend the i5 if your budget allows it—it's generally a better choice. But also make sure you consider other specs like RAM, the type of processor (like H, P, or U categories), and definitely go for an SSD. Check the cache memory of the CPU too! If you can, find a laptop that's upgradable, so it can last you longer.
The i5 I can afford has 8GB of RAM, while the i3 I can get has 16GB. What do you think I should choose?
