Should I go for the 8GB 5060 Ti or the 16GB RX 9060 XT?

I'm trying to decide between two graphics cards: the 5060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM priced at $379.99 or the RX 9060 XT with 16GB for $369.99. I looked at UserBenchmark and it suggests that the 5060 Ti has better performance—but I'm unsure if those benchmarks are applicable to both the 8GB and 16GB configurations of the cards. Right now, I'm not planning to play highly demanding games, mostly just Nightreign for the time being. Which card do you think I should choose? Please only suggest these two cards unless you have a better option within the $360 to $380 range.

Definitely go for the 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM. UserBenchmark isn't really reliable; it tends to favor Nvidia cards. Plus, having extra VRAM will save you from limitations down the road, especially if you want to play more demanding games later.

Why do people say UserBenchmark is unreliable?

GamerGuru22 -

It has a significant bias towards Nvidia products, which makes its results less trustworthy.

Honestly, I'd steer clear of any card with just 8GB these days. Most modern titles are pushing the limits, and you'll find the 16GB card gives you way more freedom and longevity. You’ll miss out if you get that 5060 Ti.

Yeah, the 9060 XT is a better choice overall. It has more VRAM and will last longer, especially if you're considering playing anything more demanding in the future. You'd be making a smart move by going with the AMD card.

But isn’t the 5060 Ti better for performance right now?

Not really worth it. The extra VRAM in the 9060 XT just outweighs the performance advantage now.

If you're still unsure, keep an eye out for sales—sometimes the prices fluctuate pretty good. But I'd say lean towards the 9060 XT. It’s hard to recommend anything with 8GB VRAM these days unless you're stuck on a super tight budget.

If you're gaming at all, the 9060 XT is the way to go—especially for the price. The 8GB on the 5060 Ti just isn't enough for future games. Check out some Hardware Unboxed videos for a deeper dive; they break down how important VRAM is for gaming.
