Should I Go for the 9060 XT or 9070 for Couch Gaming?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on whether I should choose the 9060 XT or the 9070, but I want to be clear that my usage is strictly couch gaming with a controller on my 65" 4K TV (currently a Samsung Q80B). I game around 7 feet away and want to target 1440p at 120Hz. Right now, I own a Series X and have Game Pass Ultimate, but I might stick to PC gaming once the next gen Xbox drops.

My goal is to play at high settings, ideally 1440p or maybe 1080p ultra, but it's gotta outperform the Xbox Series X to make it worth it. I don't plan to game in 4K, and honestly, being in my 40s, I probably won't notice the difference between 1440p and 4K from that distance. I'm working with a system that has a Ryzen 7800X3D, 32GB of 6000MHz RAM, 2x 1TB SSDs, and a slightly aged 750W 80+ Gold EVGA PSU. Currently, I'm using a GTX 1060 6GB from my old build that I'm looking to upgrade.

The games I mainly want to play include the new Battlefield, the older MMO Guild Wars 2, and other titles available on Game Pass like Cyberpunk and eventually GTA 6. I prefer multiplayer games, so if that makes any difference, I'd love your thoughts. The price difference isn't a huge concern—$400 for the 9060 XT versus $640 for the 9070—but I want to know if couch gaming makes spending the extra $240 really worthwhile. Thanks for any insights you can share!

If you want better performance, go for the 9070. The 9060 XT is a bit cheaper, but it won't handle 1440p at 120Hz without needing to lower settings from the very start. The 9070 has almost double the power, so it's definitely capable of pushing those higher resolutions and refresh rates you'll want for couch gaming. It seems like the better choice for your setup!

Thanks for the insight! That's exactly why I'm asking—I'm mostly seeing comparisons for desk setups with monitors.

For $640 on the 9070, just go for the 9070 XT since it's only about $30 more. It's a much better investment in the long run! Here’s a link to one I found that's a good deal: [link](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3wgZxr/asrock-steel-legend-dark-radeon-rx-9070-xt-16-gb-video-card-rx9070xt-sld-16g).

Honestly, if you're not going for the XT version, I wouldn't recommend the 9070. It seems like the pricing is a bit steep for what it offers right now, especially if the 9070 can't be found under $600. If you're looking for value, it's tough to justify that over the 9060 XT, especially if you can snag the XT for about the same price as the 9070 for just a bit more performance.

I see your point! I just checked, and I can see some 9070 XT models going for around $660, which makes it a better deal in that case.
