Hey everyone! I'm just starting out in programming and I'm hoping to learn C++ and Python specifically for video games. I'm debating whether I should dive into these languages straight away or if I should prepare more first. I feel like getting advice from those who have experience might help before making a move. What do you think?

Honestly, overthinking it is common! When you learned to write, read, or do math, you probably just jumped in without worrying about preparing too much. Just start learning, whatever language it may be! Every second spent pondering could be time spent actually learning. For Python, check out programming-25.mooc.fi, and for C++, you can't go wrong with learncpp.com. Just dive in and start coding!
Getting advice is great, but remember, there's no perfect way to learn. It seems like you have a solid plan using resources like YouTube and W3Schools. Just keep in mind that practical hands-on learning is key. You mentioned starting with the basics to understand programming, which is smart. Just remember that diving in will help you learn effectively!
Thanks for the encouragement! I agree, hands-on practices will help a lot. I’ll keep pushing myself to learn and not get too caught up in the prep stage.

Haha, I've definitely been overthinking! I appreciate the straightforward advice. I'll start checking those resources out. Glad to hear you think it's better to just get started!
