Should I Keep My 7900XT or Go for the 5070?

Hey everyone! I recently got a 7900XT for $650 and was super excited about it given the current GPU prices. However, after digging into upscaling tech while waiting for my card, I'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice. Should I have opted for the 5070 instead? I'm concerned about the tradeoff between VRAM and the benefits of the upscaling features. I often game at 1440p with competitive titles like Rivals, Apex Legends, and Siege, but I also enjoy some single-player games, such as Oblivion. I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether I should stick with the 7900XT or consider switching.

I've had my 7900XT for a year, and it's been fantastic—no driver issues, temp problems, or performance drops, even running 3440x1440p at ultra settings. It's worked great for me!

Just enjoy the raw power of the 7900XT! It's significantly stronger and can handle ray tracing with ease. You'll have a great experience in games without any performance drops. Don't stress too much about comparisons!

A league ahead? TechPowerUp shows a 5-9% performance difference depending on resolution. And considering the 5070's good upscaling, it might actually perform better in some cases.

It sounds like a classic case of buyer's remorse! The 7900XT is a solid card, and many have faced issues with the 50 series. Just try to enjoy your purchase; it's a great investment for gaming! Plus, you'll have a blast with it!

You might be right about the buyer's remorse! This is a big investment for me!

While upscaling is important, the marginal performance difference between the 7900XT and 5070 doesn't seem worth returning your card. Stick with the 7900XT; it's a great card and will serve you well!

The RTX 5070 isn't a bad card, but when you look at the benchmarks, it seems more like a 4070 Super with some extra features. I'd recommend checking some benchmarks before deciding whether to switch to Team Green. This might help clarify which is better for your needs.
