I just received a new GPU, a 5080, from Amazon, and it arrived in pretty poor packaging. It was loose in a big box with my PC case, which didn't seem right for something so expensive—around $1200. The GPU box itself has a torn corner, and there weren't any sticker seals on it. I even found a hair inside when I opened it. I haven't fully unwrapped it yet because I'm concerned that could complicate a return. Should I hang onto it or request a return instead?

Does the GPU even work? If it does, that could make a difference. But even if it functions, what if there’s hidden damage? It’s a tricky situation!
I'd recommend returning it. That's not how they should be sending high-value items like a GPU. You shouldn't have to deal with this kind of hassle when you've spent that much.
If you might sell the GPU later, keeping the box is worth considering. It helps maintain the resale value since many buyers prefer having the original packaging. But it ultimately comes down to your personal preference!

I haven't even taken it out of the packaging. I don't want to void any chances of a refund. I'm worried about potential damage I can't see right now.
