Should I Keep My New iPhone 17 Pro Max or Return It?

I recently bought a new iPhone 17 Pro Max with 256GB of storage, but I'm running into multiple issues. The battery drains pretty quickly; it lost around 8-10% overnight while idle, and after charging it to 90%, a single restart dropped it to 85%. That seems off for a brand-new device. Then there's the speaker issue: it crackles when the volume is above 50-60%, especially with bass. Plus, the phone has micro stutters when scrolling through apps and the display shows a greenish tint at slight angles. I'm debating whether to keep it or go back to my iPhone 14 Pro Max until these problems are sorted out.

It sounds like the battery issues could be related to iPhone's indexing process. This can take over a week, especially if you transferred a lot of data from your old phone. If you set it up as new and added your apps one by one, you might see better battery life. Software updates can also drain the battery since they cause re-indexing. I'd give it a little time to see if it improves before deciding to return it.

I totally get your frustration, but I’ve had a great experience with mine. Just a tip: it’s better not to leave your phone unplugged overnight. Modern phones manage their power well when plugged in, so that shouldn’t be a concern. But yeah, that battery drain does seem excessive for a new phone.

Have you considered that the crackling sound might be a defect? It shouldn't be happening, so definitely check if it's a hardware issue. As for the stutters and screen tint, if it's truly bothering you, returning might be the best option until they resolve these quirks.
