Should I Keep or Sell My DDR5 RAM?

I have a pair of DDR5 RAM sticks from T-Force, totaling 16GB (2x8GB) with a speed of 6000MHz. Unfortunately, my motherboard only supports DDR4, and I already have 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3600MHz. Should I hold onto the DDR5 RAM for a future upgrade or sell it?

If you keep it, you might be in a better position down the line as RAM prices stay high right now. But if you really need the money, selling seems like a reasonable option too. You have time to decide!

That's a great point! I'll just hold onto it a bit longer while I think.

Honestly, it depends on your situation. If you don’t plan on building a new computer anytime soon, selling it might be smart. DDR5 prices are good now, and it’s likely you won't need just 16GB if you upgrade in the future. Plus, RAM doesn’t usually fail that often, so you’re fine without a spare set.

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning towards selling it since my current setup works great.

I’d sell it and reinvest! I mean, DDR6 isn’t far off, and if you’re not building now, you might as well cash in before the market gets flooded with cheaper DDR5.

I’d recommend holding onto it! If you think you might upgrade your motherboard and CPU in the next few years, having that DDR5 RAM on hand could really pay off. If you need cash now, then selling could be the way to go—just know you might regret it later if you decide to go for a DDR5 setup.

Hold onto it a little longer and see if prices go up even more. It could be worth it!
