Should I Replace My RAM After Discovering Errors?

I've been running MemTest and encountered over 100 errors so far, and I expect that number to keep increasing with more tests. Considering it's around $360 for 32GB DDR4 RAM, I'm hesitant since getting just 16GB feels like it wouldn't be worth it. My current motherboard can't support DDR5 RAM, so I can't upgrade past DDR4 without also purchasing a new motherboard, which would set me back an additional $160, plus $550 for 32GB of DDR5. I'm really not looking to spend any more money if I can avoid it, but I will if it's necessary. Any advice would be appreciated!

If your RAM is G.Skill, they typically honor warranty claims without hassle. In the US, it usually takes about a week to get replacement RAM, but I’m not sure about overseas.

If MemTest records even a single error, I’d consider the RAM faulty. It’s generally expected to pass tests without any errors. Just be cautious with RAM pricing right now!

What brand of RAM do you have? Some come with lifetime warranties, which could save you some cash if you can get a replacement.

It's G.Skill.

Keep in mind that sometimes, a BIOS issue or instability from overclocking can lead to MemTest errors that aren't actually due to faulty RAM. It might be worth exploring that avenue too.

It might be worth posting your full parts list to get better advice. Have you tried disabling XMP? Also, is this a recent issue?

Yes, I disabled XMP from the start. This is a new problem that started when I began playing Deadlock; I've been having constant BSODs and game crashes since.

Maybe check your RAM settings. Some users find reducing the RAM clock by 100 MHz steps can help with stability.
