Should I sell my old RAM and upgrade my processor?

I'm currently using a 2x8 DDR4 RAM setup, but I've just purchased a 2x16 RAM kit. Both sets run at 3200, and my PC is working, although the RAM is from different brands. I have an RTX 3080 and an AMD 5600G processor. I'm considering selling my old RAM and processor to upgrade to a 5600X. Is it worth it, or will the performance difference be minimal? I mainly play indie games and AA titles, and I'm not focused on max settings or 4K. My primary use is for drawing in Photoshop and some 3D modeling and animation in Blender, but I'm not a professional.

Selling your old components could be a good move since you probably won't need them if you're upgrading. The 5600X will offer a noticeable performance boost, especially if you're gaming—some games see a 50+ FPS increase, while others might be around 10-20 FPS better.

Would this upgrade also help with the performance in 3D software? I’ve noticed that when I try to push the speed using XMP, my PC doesn't boot properly and only runs at about 2600.

What resolution and refresh rate are you using? Pairing your RTX 3080 with the 5600G might be a bottleneck. If you're not hitting 100% GPU usage, upgrading to the 5600X makes sense; it's a faster CPU for gaming and other applications.

You might not need to go from the 5600G to the 5600X right away. However, something like an 8-core CPU would significantly improve your overall performance, especially in 3D applications.

I found the 5700X at a decent price, should I consider that as an upgrade?
