I'm currently gaming on Star Citizen with an RTX 4080 paired with a 9800x3d. I'm wondering whether it's worth selling my 4080 to upgrade to a 5070 Ti, or if I should hold out for the 5080 instead. Any insights or advice?

The 5070 Ti offers almost the same performance as the 4080, with the main advantage being multi frame generation. If you consider upgrading to the 5080, it’s about 15% faster, but the cost might not justify the difference.
If you decide to sell your 4080, you can get around $700 or $750 for it. The difference to upgrade to the 5080 would be about $300 for a 15% performance boost, which isn't bad. Just keep in mind that the overclocking potential on the 5080 is excellent, so if you're into that, you could see a nice performance gain.
Honestly, the upgrade might only give you a 5-10% increase in performance at best, so I don't think it's worth it.
With your 4080, you're set for at least a couple more generations unless you really want a small performance boost. If you're not in a rush, just stick with what you have for now.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. The 5070 Ti is pretty much equivalent to the 4080. If you're looking to upgrade, it might be better to wait for the 60 series or consider a high-end AMD card instead.

Ok, thanks for the insight! Maybe I'll hold off and wait for the 60 series. 🙂 o7
