Hey everyone! I'm currently using GPT-4o-mini for my SaaS, and I recently received an email from OpenAI suggesting an upgrade to the GPT-4.1 model. But here's the kicker: there are three models available right now, and the pricing isn't straightforward. The base model's pricing seems unreasonable for us to consider, the mini model is actually priced higher than 4o-mini, while the nano model is the cheaper option. I'm confused about the performance differences since they haven't published full benchmarks comparing 4o-mini and 4.1-nano. Right now, I'm leaning towards sticking with 4o-mini, but I'm worried about the potential deprecation of that model since I really like it. What do you all think?

Just checking, but are you mixing up 4o-mini with o4-mini? Some people get confused about the names. Just want to make sure you're on the right track!
It's definitely a tough decision! I've been using 4o-mini for a while and found it to be super reliable with great performance for the price. Even if the new models are a bit better, the outputs can vary in tone, and sometimes the original just feels right. It's worth weighing how much of a difference you’d really notice in your use case.
I think the best way to figure this out is to test them out with your users and see which they prefer. If 4o-mini is working out for you, that's great! The nano model could be suited for your needs too, but it really depends on what you're using it for.
