Should I Stick with My 5700X3D or Upgrade to a 7800X3D/9700X Bundle?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded from an old Ryzen 1400 to the 5700X3D back in December, and paired it with a 7900 XT and 16 GB of 2666 MHz RAM on an old B350 motherboard. Now, I've been eyeing the AM5 bundles with either the 7800X3D or the 9700X available at Microcenter, and I'm debating whether the ~$500 upgrade is worth it, or if I should just hold off for AM5+/AM6 in the future. What do you all think?

Your main bottleneck is the 2666MHz RAM. Upgrading to 16GB of either 3200 or 3600MHz RAM will boost your CPU's performance significantly without needing a complete overhaul. I've got a 5800X3D with a 7900 XT and it handles everything smoothly at 1440p!

The 5700X3D is still a solid CPU, especially with the 7900 XT. If high frame rates or heavy tasks aren’t a problem for you, I'd suggest saving that $500 for a more substantial upgrade in the future!

Skip the CPU upgrade and just get some more RAM while it's still cheap! You could even sell your 7900 XT and go for a 9070 XT or 5070 TI instead—way better bang for your buck right now.

If you're super eager for an upgrade, focus on getting 32GB of good RAM. Your current CPU is powerful enough to hold off on a full upgrade. Unless you're hitting major limits at work or in gaming, there's no urgent need for a 9700X.

Honestly, just invest in 32GB of 3600MHz RAM and call it a day! The 7800X3D is a bit better, but paying $400-$500+ for that slight upgrade isn't really worth it.
