Should I Stick with My New 5070 Ti or Go Back to My 4070 Super?

I recently picked up a 5070 Ti at MSRP ($749) from Walmart as I'm looking to future-proof and upgrade my PC setup. Currently, I have a 4070 Super paired with a 12900K processor and 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000MHz. To be honest, the 4070 Super has been performing well in the games I've been playing. I have two 4K monitors—one is an IPS at 144Hz, and the other is an OLED at 240Hz. I mainly play CS2, where I'm hitting a steady minimum of 240fps at 4K on high settings, often averaging 280-300fps. I also play titles like Helldivers and RDR2 at 1440p without any issues. I don't mind using DLSS Quality and sometimes frame generation to boost my frame rates.

I chose the 5070 Ti for its 16GB of VRAM and comparable performance to a 4080 Super, which I considered buying but found it difficult due to stock issues and inflated prices. The 5090 is way out of my budget. With the current situation affecting GPU manufacturing, I thought upgrading now might be smarter than waiting, especially with the prospect of future cards becoming even pricier. I'm also planning to sell my 4070 Super for about $400-450 to help offset the cost.

So, should I keep the 5070 Ti or return it and stick with my 4070 Super? I'm not looking to switch to AMD's 9070 XT, as I prefer NVIDIA's software.

The 5070 Ti is a decent card. Remember, a 5080 only brings about a 15% improvement, and the 5090 is just ludicrously expensive. Better to keep the 5070 Ti!

Honestly, I wouldn't have bought the 5070 Ti since the performance increase feels minor for the price. But since you already have it, keep it and let go of the 4070 Super to help with the cost.

Just keep the 5070 Ti and sell your old card!

I’m in the same boat, thinking about making this exact switch. The upgrade might not seem essential, but with prices likely going up, it could be wise to hop on it now. Plus, you can sell your 4070 Super for a good price!

Why not keep both for now? You can always sell one in six months to balance things out! It's like getting a free upgrade after some time!

Exactly! One will pay for the other. It’s a win-win situation!

If you've got the 5070 Ti already, just hold onto it and sell the 4070 Super. The 5070 has more VRAM and generally better performance, so it's a solid upgrade!
