Should I Stick with Pop!_OS or Switch to Fedora 42?

I'm currently using Pop!_OS on my Xiaomi Notebook Pro, which has 16GB of RAM and a 12th Gen Intel i5 processor, along with integrated Intel UHD graphics. I switched to Pop!_OS because of its great hardware compatibility and strong performance, particularly with NVIDIA support. However, I previously used Fedora 40 and had a good experience with it. Now, I'm wondering if I should switch to Fedora 42 or just stick with Pop!_OS. As an HR Analyst, I primarily use web-based apps like MS Office and offline tools like OnlyOffice, PyCharm, and SQL. What do you think? Should I continue with Pop!_OS, switch to Fedora 42, or consider another distro?

I heard Fedora 42 has a newer kernel, which can potentially improve your hardware support. But if your current setup is running fine, you might want to stay with it. Also, you can try installing both or testing them in a live environment before deciding.

That’s a solid way to go! Getting a feel for both distros can really help before you commit to one.

Pop!_OS hasn’t had major updates in a while. If you’re looking for more up-to-date packages and software, Fedora 42 could be a worthy switch. But just keep in mind you might have to deal with NVIDIA drivers again, which isn’t too tough but something to consider.

If Pop!_OS is working well for you, I’d say there’s no urgent need to switch. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! Fedora is a great distro, but if you're happy with your current setup, just stick with it for now. Plus, if you're already familiar with Pop!_OS, it might be easier to keep using it instead of getting used to something new.

Yeah, switching can sometimes bring unnecessary trouble, especially if everything's working smoothly.
